My ancient holdall has reel pouches, but my Penn reels won't fit so have to take them off.

Have you ever considered just leaving them on permanently and either getting a quiver system or a holdall with reel pouches built in , my reels haven't been removed in years on any of my set ups so much easier, otherwise a tiny dap of oil will cure the problem

I've had this issue

I put on a pair of marigold gloves, which gave much more grip when trying to unscrew the reel seat / reel ..
When that's achieved ,I clean the threaded part of the reel seat ,in my case ,Century reel sears, most likely Fuji, with ,Century name om them

Then I use WURTH ,a silicone cleaner making sure all the threaded parts are free from debris ,and move freely up n down when screwing the threaded bit

It worked for me

( temperature changes over many sessions ,plus rods flexing plays its part as well, they just stiffen up ,it is what it is )

My Greys Prodigy rods have the normal screw type reel seats but they are incredibly tight to do up and then undo to get the reels off, so much so that last trip I thought I would have to leave the reel on the rod, all three are the same.

Is there anything I can do to make them easier to use?
