I’ve got a set of the SCR 13’, they are absolute weapons. I’m well out of practice casting due to not going enough and using 10’ a lot the past year but have got the big rods out this week and put a Rig 140 Yds after a couple of goes.

13ft harrison trebuchet lites are a serious distance rod that have a bit of a tip too. When choosing them i cast them against the 13ft HI S and I was consistently 15-20 yds further with the harrisons

Their off the shelf build quality also seems a lot better

No experience with Hi S other than others I know who love them . . .I'm a self confessed bang average caster but quite like the look of the SCR ST13-Ci (South Coast Rods) and if you believe the marketing vids these are manageable range rods . . .maybe worth a go?

Your 13 ft rod wraps, correct me if I'm wrong, 30 - 32 wraps would be 130 to 138 yards.
Still far enough for most people ( myself included ) Those Hi-S rods are still great range tools.

So how much further do you need/want to cast, is it level line or is this with lighter line or braid/leader ( if lake rules allowed ).

Hi All,

I'm a HI S user (3.5's, 13ft ive's and 13ft 200's). These are quite aged but seen as benchmark rods.

Are there more superior rods with quick recovery tips capable of Long distance in cross winds, big leads, bags etc or am I best sticking with my Hi S?

I can do about 30 -32 wraps /120yds ish at a push with my casting style (suits me).
