Well anyway, the RX+ warranty saga is drawing to a close. AD are expecting a replacement head within the next week direct from Fox and that will come through the post. Happy days.
Which means I'm left with the duffer RX+ so you all know where thats being sent to be fixed ๐

There is no 'V'.... If you want the best reliable bite alarm just get a set of RX+'s... end off. ๐

Iโve gone for a new purchase of RXโs, I just couldnโt get on with the txi-ds even as much as I wanted to get on with them, tried them for a few years and made the switch. So much tech but not enough substance. My txiโs were bulb proof. Hopefully made the right choice, my mates swear by them so fingers crossed!

Only had the old Delkims with the 1st and 2nd series of sensors.
What I found out was that you have to place a rod guide about 5-15cm in front of the indicator (aka towards the water) as otherwise the sensor wouldnt pick up the line vibrations properly and slow drop backs etc. wouldnt register. Worked really well, when you place a rod guide in front of the indicator.
That was more than 30 years ago so not sure if this would help in indication nowadays with the new models as well?

I only had my delks for 5 months and had to get rid of them. Apart from the build quality I don't know what all the fuss is about. I had a shocking experience with mine. They literally cost me a few fish when using zigs in deep water and the slow drop backs didn't even register. Apparently, a common issue on them.

Yes under warranty. I bought them in May 25 through Angling Direct so I've just filed a warranty claim by uploading a video of the dogey alarm and they are now approaching Fox about it. I bought 4 for this specific reason so I always had a spare incase one threw a wobble.
Doesn't fill you with confidence after paying over ยฃ700 ๐คฌ
Infact, if it happens again, I'll flog them and get a set of D2's

Are they under warranty? There's quite a few reported failures of RX+ but I'm fairly sure given the volume sold it's still probably a minority.
Until Fox bring out a new one with vibe I'll stick to my Qi's.

It's a lottery, I had ECU customs for about a month til the receiver flattened it's brand new battery while switched off, was told to take the battery out for 72 hours so it could re boot but never got an explanation how it flattened the battery while it was switched off in the first place.
Apparently could happen with the heads as well, not much good in a fishing situation so they went, sold a nice set of atts when I got them too.

My confidence has been shaken a bit in the RX+. Bought a 4 rod set last may and at the weekend a speaker packed up on one of them. I've just flogged my 15 year old NTXR's aswell, not what I expected.

Exactly that, I had the first delkims they made after they stopped the conversions..were they the txi's?...don't remember but after watching bobbins drop back to the floor or pull up to the rod without a single bleep plus the fact they were only shower proof & totally unreliable in heavy rain meant they were sold on sharpish.
Been on roller buzzers ever since currently atts which don't have the bells & whistles but do what they're supposed to do even in torrential rain.
