Am i the only one who joined, rather than just looking in, because the mags. Became too full of the same cycle of rehashed articles, and increased prices I've been catching carp since 1975. Most of what has been published since the hair has been irrelevant. Rig evolution is fine, but it requires a knowledge of the lake you are fishing at the time. Even the swim on that lake, or the half of that swim that the fish will pick up from. The buggers that catch the bigguns on a regular basis are not geniuses. They are the people who can be on the bank at the right time and in right place at the right time a modicum of understanding of animal behavior helps. We don't all have to do a Rod Hutchinson and push peas around the carpet with our noses to understand carp feeding behavior. It's all out there the big benefit of being a human is , we learn from the experience of our forebears.
More original thought and less sheepism is what we need.
God bless the original thinkers. If you are one, don't sell out keep it to yourselves

Great post love to hear the early history of the Forum .
Well done to Karl and Mods for keeping it going .
The bait thread alone could have destroyed many a good man .
