In reply to Post #8 Agree with that. Always avoid credit when you can.
Lots of great second hand rods available and they will still do you a turn.
You can get a set of torrix for £300, whats not to like.

In reply to Post #4 Quote... As mentioned you've got the pay monthly option with PayPal or Klarna
Our entire website payment system was always run by PayPal. For the last few years, they have contacted me once a week, every single week, trying to get me to add that poxy monthly credit options to our cart. Literally 100's of phonecalls/emails. In the end they were offering to do the work on the website for us free & reduce our overall fees to boot! Desperate to give people credit (increase spending).
I always flatly refused & ignored them. It cost me a lot of money over the last few years. I never cared. I am bang against credit. I've never had a credit card in my life. I get offered them constantly. I am a great believer in the fact that if you don't have the money, you don't buy it. That's for me personally. That was for my website that I controlled, I would never like to think of peeps getting in debt over our hook baits. I don't control other people and would not want too. Everyone loves a bit of credit. I hate it. I'm a cash man & will always be that way. It's stood me very well in my life. These days I get PayPal offering to lend me £100-250K with stupidly low interest rates, basically a one off charge. I still would never take it. I'm a cash man & will always be that way. It's stood me very well in my life not ever owing anyone bugger all.
But my personal opinions regarding myself do not mean anything in regards to other people. Everyone else loves a bit of credit. That's their personal choice.

In reply to Post #1 Anyone remember when tackleshops used to do cheque spread. No credit agreement needed. Just a promise to pay monthly for the items you bought. ( I believe cheque's were guaranteed by the banks up to a certain amount )
As mentioned you've got the pay monthly option with PayPal or Klarna and no doubt a few others. These are normally over three to four months.
I know shops like the Tacklebox in Dartford do Credit.

Or buy from a rod builder. They usually take a deposit, then you pay the rest when they are ready. Most of the well known guys have an 8-12 week wait between.

In reply to Post #1 Personally I'd suggest better to save for them first and then buy, saves any possible problems with credit or debt etc.
Lecture over, there is normally PayPal credit options or Klarna I think on lots of tackle sites for expensive stuff
