In reply to Post #10 You are correct, not happy as a lover of Golden Wonder Bacon crisps!
There are natural smokes out there though, more popular in the states for BBQing, but as always, more expensive.

Dont seem to see a lot of company's doing a Ham flavouring. I'm sure there was talk of banning these type of flavours in the food industry. Flavour smokes used to flavour meats and the likeI. But you can still get them if you search.

In reply to Post #4 This recipe has done the rounds on various FB bait groups for a while. As for the ham flavour I guess you could find some of Rushworth's old flavour, Nutrabaits, or have a flavour company make one for you.

In reply to Post #4 I seem to remember a matt hayes video on the tv years and years ago where he was barbel fishing with a guy who used a ham flavour on his luncheon meat, poured into a bag and shaken around.
He was quite a well known barbel angler maybe someone on here will remember

In reply to Post #3 Interesting, but at the inclusion rate of 15ml/500g, 60ml would be enough for 2kg of basemix?
Quick question, where do you get the boiled ham from? I'm assuming that is a flavour?

In reply to Post #1 Maple-8 Activator -
25g citric acid
50ml Water
15ml Boiled Ham
10ml Maple
5ml E422 (Glycerol)
This is enough for 2kg of base mix
Activ 8 same but no maple
