Cheers. I thought as much using the 2.75 CFX rods, seem stiff to me, plenty of power.

I'm more used to match rods. Only this morning I had a 15lb 5oz hard looking linear mirror on my Hi-S 14' Power Float rod and 4lb line fishing for Roach on the waggler (not a Commercial type Carp - hard fighting strain).

The Free Spirit rods I have (CTX Barbel Tamer 1.75lb, Hi-S 14' Power Float, 11' CTX Carp Feeder, and 2x 12' CTX 2.5lb) are all very soft and progressive, so I thought I could do with a 3lb one, but might as well save my money until I find somewhere to actually use it LOL

Nothing wrong with using what you've already got for bigger fish, 2.75lbers will land any carp that swims in the UK

I'm just getting into Carp fishing.

First rods I got were Tackle Box DV CFX 2.75lb 12' Black Edition.

I thought they were alright, if a little stiff, snappy kind of action always wanting to be straight, so bought a pair of Free Spirit CTX 2.5lb 12'.

Love the CTX for the little club waters I tend to fish, so thinking about getting some CTX 3lb rods for when the time comes to fish bigger waters or for bigger fish.

Are there any other rods I should look at? Kind of set on the 3lb CTX as I like the 2.5lb, and the 11' Carp Feeder is probably my most used feeder rod. Love how soft my CTX rods feel.
