Must be a lot of anglers willing to pay as it seems all the Embryo waters waiting lists are closed.

A rather wealthy friend of mine said "invest in land Andy, they're not making any more of it".

This was to show transparency in the waiting list , if you are number 10 on the list , people who know the bailiffs will not jump in front of you, unlike other waters ! Works well 👍

I'll stand to be corrected, but I'm pretty sure that I have heard DF say that the Embryo waters will be held in a non-profit trust when he shuffles off and not passed on to his family.
Having said that I'm sure his millionsÂŁ invested and owed to him by Embryo works out well as a tax write off...............

You guys talking like it's all being done at some massive loss just for the good of carp fishing do realise that land is about the best investment that there is, right? No one is losing any money whatsoever. They are far to clever for that. Rich people buy land. It's a smart investment. It promotes generational wealth, not for a quick return.

Not implying Danny, or Korda, but that's how REALLY rich people keep their money & pay very little tax. You buy assets, tie the money up, then you often borrow on those assets. Danny will be most interested in how to pass his earned wealth onto his children. And so he should too.

Yes Korda are doing a lot to secure lakes. They are the without question the best fishing company around. Good luck to them. They have earned all that. But don't try to kid people that it's all for nothing, like some kind of charity, as that is simply not true whatsoever. It's not getting you moved up the waiting list any quicker haha. Intelligent people do not invest money for nothing.

Danny is clearly an intelligent person. Good luck to him, he deserves it. It's been earnt.

100% korda have pumped millions into it with little to no return
On the investment no other company would do that ever
Korda is a great company started from nothing employees people in the UK
And Europe. Creating jobs and paying tax into the system
An everything in-between. Hats off to korda
In an ever changing world of ups and downs they keep going
Looking at it in a business sense I think it's amazing
You need to understand what it takes . you have to admire
It .. I do ..

Korda clearly is a commercial company and operates how any company would. But I do believe Embryo is trying to do the right thing. It's clear that Danny has put a lot of money into it and is getting no return on that. He doesn't have to, I don't see the owners of any other fishing brand doing anything similar.
Embryo also provide fencing services at discounted rates for clubs.

I may not always agree with how they manage waters (getting rid of weed in particular) but I do think they've done a lot to preserve some great carp fishing without profit as a primary goal.

I think you could be spot on about the Cemex sell off, it would make perfect sense for both parties.

I very much doubt that they'll be looking for small waters, they just don't generate enough revenue from angling. There will be the odd exception, but generally they're more suited to clubs, genuine syndicates or hobbyists like myself.

I wonder if cemex was broken up now would Embryo just have snaffled them all up?

I do think it would be a good thing to see one or two embryo waters around the south too, plenty of pits and smaller ponds that are surely prime for buying?

Are Korda / Embryo really that altruistic?

In my opinion, they will always put money first and prioritise the company over the average members – but they have the funding and resources, so there's not much anyone can do about it, is there?

Unless another benevolent millionaire steps in to shake things up, this is probably just how the industry is going to stay.

Would that have been a very famous venue with 2 lakes on it in the past?
