All microbarbed options of size 4 longshanks in the specialist range are showing in stock, somewhere in the 4000-5000 range!

Ahh, that sucks. I’ve got loads lol. Did you check all the different quantities? Sometimes they’ll show no stock of 10’s, but 20’s or 50’s are in stock!

I just checked the Long Shank Specialist in size 4 as they've 15% off, typically my luck, none in stock sie 4 
Sure it can wait, not in a rush anyway.

I found the classic range of BT hooks to be pretty blunt tbh. The BT Specialists are much better quality in my opinion.
Also worth a look for longshanks, Angling Iron are very good. I’d happily use any of Ace, BT, or AI, they’re all very similar, if not the same.

BT classic series seems to be VMC hook, isn't it ? They have the "NT+ series" with the small glue blob below the eye.
VMC curv shank 7025 NT are the one I use in Iq D rig. Very sharp straight out of the packet.

Talking of BT, I got some of the specialist grippers in a 4.
A nice pattern, and really no point trying to sharpen them as they are well sharp enough as they come.
I also got some classic wide gapes in a 4, definitely need a good sharpen.

Thanks for the heads up re BT's. I had a look at them a while ago online but not for that purpose (Pike Fishing).
@Onslow, I bought some packets of Nash Claws in size , again thinking Pike fishing. Last year I bought some of the Flota Claw and was impressed if a tad heavy, same re the size 1.
When fishing in France using a 4 LS I tend to use double 15mm, snowman style or just straight bottom baits. Usually it's with a straight hair extension of the stiff braid so effectively the baits are inline. I might alter it with a run ringed hair ala blow back style but that's about it for me, bit boring given the newer multi component rigs, but if it works.....

I've been really impressed with the Nash claw wide gape since it was released. Holds are excellent but the points do turn easily after a fish so have some rigs ready made.
As mentioned below, easy to extend with some shrink tube even though I rarely find this is necessary.
Whatever people might say about Nash, I've found their hooks to be consistently excellent as the current pinpoints and previous fangs have proven over probably 10-15 years.
Imho much better than the ESP and fox stuff and only beaten by the drennan conti which is the best hook in the world ever 👍

I use Ace and Carp Spirit (same) or ESP in Size T5 or T6 (small baits, approx. 15mm)
Soft and thin braid hair and 6" fluoro 0,4 or 0,5mm.
It work really well but I' m concern about mouth damage that sometime happen.

If you like the Ace razorpoints, the Bank Tackle (specialist range) are as far as I can tell, the same hook! I finally ran out of Aces last summer and changed over to Banks and they’ve been flawless.
I also favour them in a size 4 and never have any mouth damage. Tend to use them with big snowmen on multi-combi’s, or 24mm bottom baits on basic semi stiff braided hair rigs with long hairs.
