For the M cameras it's the Canon EF-M one you want mate - EF-M 32mm F1.4 STM. I see Sigma do a 30mm but I've no experience of it. I do use Sigma lenses on the full frame jobby but that's a different mount.

@karmh.... agree it's not cheap but that lens is as sharp as the Canon L (professional) series lenses which cost up to ten times more. Believe me it's a bargain. Several of the old EF-M lenses have been made with the newer R mount (they call them RF-S). They didn't bother with the 32 as they know it'd take sales away from the L range. It's that good.

As Yonny says, that 32mm lens is the one to get, because it's crop sensor it gives you the equivalent of a 50mm.

I use an app called Cascable with it . You can create 'recipes' to control the camera remotely, I use it as an intervalometer, with an autofocus before each shot, works really well. I have my phone on a bucket next to me and you can see the shots in real time, move the focus point adjust settings etc.

Really good compact camera.

I had the M6 rather than the M50 for that exact reason. It's the M50s biggest con. The size is the biggest pro.
All the EOS M cameras are decent, image quality is awesome with that 32mm lens. For image quality relative to size, I don't think you can beat it even now.
I sold all my M stuff to go full frame. Part of me regrets it now I'm lugging a full size camera bag with me.

I've just got this camera, haven't used it yet though and didn't realise it couldn't take intervalometer, seems strange.

Been trying with the idea of getting this camera due to its size. Care to comment on the pros and cons. The only thing putting me of is it don't take a involometer
But I believe there might be an app you can use via Bluetooth.

It's the 32 you want mate - EF-M 32mm F1.4 STM.

Absolutely awesome lens - incredibly sharp.

Hi , can someone recommend me a lense for catch shots for the canon m50 ?

I think I read a 35mm prime lense but wanted some opinions before I bought anything

Thank you
