In reply to Post #15 Yes..
For example I know of people who sound like a mix of Brummie or whatever ,but 100% Cornish for sure ..
My kids ,all four of them sound Cornish and are very proud of it indeed ,but some locals are embarrassed of the accent ,due no doubt to having the urine extracted ,during school which makes them feel uncomfortable, which is wrong ..
There is a new 'breed' and it ain't nice ..

In reply to Post #14 It's very sad the loss of regional identity in the name of integration/harmony/greed
Edit, but it is the future and can't be stopped.

In reply to Post #9 A lot of proper generational Cornish ,don't actually have an accent these days ,this because of the influx of people from up country ,ie going to school ,college and what not ,and general integration ..ie dilution of accent and customs..
For example ...most on here wouldn't understand my gramps ,or mother in law ,other family members ,friends etc all sound from away, yet are born and raised ,with both parents being born here ,it's very interesting....,however the accent is still around in moorland communities..
Ken is still the Godfather of Cornish carping...

I really wish someone would put the old original Richworth films on YouTube (The early 80's ones, with Clive & Malcolm) as I really want to see them again.
I remember someone on the old Cemex forum was doing DVD copies, but I missed out

In reply to Post #1 Just watched the Nutrabaits one. Ah the nostalgia. Even though I've read much of Ken Townley's stuff, I'd never actually heard him speak. I always assumed that he sounded like a salty, Cornish sea dog rather than the very well spoken gent on the video haha.
