I'm not familiar with the Medway but for most rivers it'd be a stick or wire stemmed float for me. I bought some Korum wire stems not long ago, simply because they were on sale.
Size of float for me woukd depend on flow and depth, maybe get a selection to cover eventualities, if no one local can advise

I'm hoping to get down on the Medway, near Tonbridge soon, but need some floats. Does anyone know which type and size would be best for trotting maggots with a centrepin reel. Thanks Mark.
