In reply to Post #1 I use S7 (krill) all year but 2 years ago I was looking for a more dedicated winter bait, I narrowed it down to Baitworks CreAmino (quite soft) and RG Baits Vita-Lac, but I never took it any further, might be worth a look

Agree about finding the fish.
Winter, I wait for a sunny (warmer) day, and head straight to the shallow water. Don't bother with nights anymore.
Autumn, I love this time of the year, once you have found the fish I prefer using casters & worm (if allowed) with crushed boilie.

In reply to Post #2 LOL
Forgot to mention done that 5-6 ft all over rocky \ sandy bottom, interrupted and minor patches of that fine weed.
If i could of found the fish it prob would of been a better result, But im past the point where a blank get me the propper hump.
Just some time out in nature having fun a fish in the bottom of the net is almost just a bonus.
Thanx for the vote of confidence tho !,,

In reply to Post #1 Bait won't be the reason, any thing half decent will be fine.
Location is the biggest issue. Spend time with a marker/leading rod, look for weedbeds, reedbeds any snag cover.

Hi all
Just back from a 3 day session on one of my larger club lakes.
Never fished it before.
Nothing showing, nothing jumping nowt...
I fished long i fished short, normally would go to the margins but they are only inches in depth.
I fished bottom baits, I fished bottom baits with a pop up + I fished bottom baits made up as a wafter.
Just a great weekend out in nature wrapped up like a mummy keeping warm and trying to ignore the dripping condensation in the bivvy....
Anyway was using Krill Active on a spinner \ ronnie which for me has never ever failed.
Any thoughts on a colder weather bait which is as successful as The Krill I can try next time.. (or perhaps it just wasn't my weekend..!!!)
