every time I went past in my van I could see them in the little cut outs by the margins stirring up the bottom, not sure the anglers were fishing close enough into the bank

It's a Carpers mentality mate, they rarely do. When I fished the 1st peg up from the stew ponds we were walking down to the marginal reeds and dropping pva bags no further out than 10' or so. We outcaught everyone on the lake that week, even the pylon peg which normally takes the lions share (or did), just took in in turns on just the 3 rods.

just got back from Jonchery 8 , was there last week, the fishing on Jonchery was slow last week due to the rain the week before, it switched on a bit later in the week, every time I went past in my van I could see them in the little cut outs by the margins stirring up the bottom, not sure the anglers were fishing close enough into the bank due to the water change the fish were in really shallow water during the day.

Here is a video of our trip to Jonchery 8.

Peg 6 all day long, at this time of year, access to the reeds opposite and under the power lines with a bait boat. It's been a long time since I fished it though, not sure if the swim boundaries are the same anymore. Not sure if it's still there but to the lhs of peg 6 there was a sand hump which at times was very close to the surface, pita with bigger fish, mine grounded itself, with help from me, obv.
