Mesh or shrink wrap the boilie to prevent it being whittled away. As for a thin hair, your better matching the hair diameter to the diameter of your baiting needle, a thin hair and a fat baiting needle not a great combo and water will get into the bait more easily from the inside.

Superglue them on a hair- back to back. Barbel fishing method we use for pellets. works for small boilies too. Just a hair with no loop as its not needed.

As i said, a simple knotless knot rig. No need for anything more complicated than that

Anything with a hair. I wouldn't be looking to attach a 10mm boilie via a hook swivel or screw

Thanks much for your advise. Will give it a try with a thin hair as advised if I am fishing a short session.
Overnight then I will go for a larger boilie or a tigernut then.

Intend to fish these smallies with a D-Rig. Anything else thats suitable?

Go for a couple of tigers or some other particle
At least they won’t get whittled away by small stuff every 2 minutes

You will be slaughtered by bream, roach and everything else. You may well have a few carp but it's very scattergun.

They don't last very well on bait screws, you'd be best using them on a normal hair. Use 3 or 4 on a standard knotless knot rig

Hi all,
everyone is fishing with 28-40mm boilies here to select the bigger fish.
I want to be different and fish 10 or 12mm boilies.

I intend to use1-2 drilled 10mm boilies with a bait screw (convenient).
They will stay on the screw for some hours but I am reluctant to use this over night as I fear that the boilies will break down rather quickly (lots of silvers present).
Have also tried fine hair material and a very fine baiting needle. That seems to work well.

Fish over 20kg are present so have to use a stronger size 6-8 hook.

How do you fish these small 10-12mm baits?
What rigs are suitable?
How is your experience reg. the boilies staying "on the hook" for longer periods of time?

Thank you for your advise! Have a great season!
