In reply to Post #1 Parallax gripz hooks. They are baroness but had a texture on the inside of the point.
Eagle wave are the ones I use. 100lb 8 strand braid for hook link. Hookbaits i use half a wine cork and baitworks paste. If there's nuisance fish I boil for a minute. Add scent from hell the the fish sauce and leave the hook baits in it.

It's been a long time since I fished for Cats but I used to use Kryston Ton Up and Eagle Claw hooks, usually circle or cranked pattern.

In reply to Post #1 I fish for cats more than carp these days, I use owner cutting point hooks as they go in and stay in way better than any hook aimed at carp anglers. Not sure if you can get them in barbless or not Tbh, the barb is tiny though so you could easily remove it. As for hook link , for cats that size no need to go too heavy, gardner do a braided leader in 45lb which would be ideal

Gold label penetrator continental hooks are very good if you can still find them

I've recently switched to using OMC Lock Hook in size 4 specifically for Catfish and Sturgeon to 70lb and have had great hook holds so far!
