Wouldn't use chod - maybe a long link on a heli maybe better choice?

One of the venue i fish is v silty with leaves too and got more confidence using longer link on that heli with lighter leads.

Shallow venue with next to no weed but after watching fish they are high in water.
Very silty with a leaf covered bottom.

Would say 4/5" is the longest -would pay to use different heights on diff rods. Get what you mean as any longer you would really lose that effectiveness though chod rig lengths are not just dictated about the rig length alone in as much as the travel you allow on the leadcore/line.
Really depends on what your fishing over.

Depends on the venue, and size of fish where you fish, and personal experimentation.

At what height does a chod become less effective?
I'm tempted to try longer chods but would imagine at some point a short zig/pop up off the lead would be better.
Any thoughts?
