Obsidians arrived, first impressions are really good. I’ll spool them up later and have a few casts.

In reply to Post #11 Hi, on Obsidians, got 3 spools with 15 LB ESP Syncro XT on them, 3 spools with braid on them 45 LB 0.28mm, prob them with one set of the reducers on them.
The other reducers, capacity left after putting them on, thinness of braid, amount of line on spool. Don't seem enough for anything Carp wise. You put reducers on spool & theres nearly nowt left.
Still like to know why Okuma as supplied these reducers.
Anybody who has Obsidians used them for anything ?
Other reducers supplied as above, iv'e used OK, should have supplied at least 2 sets of these.
Bob
ps Obsidian Reel is the same as the Salt Water version.
Whether reducers are related to some international line caught standards ?

In reply to Post #10 That's for use with braid.

In reply to Post #8 Hi, thought Obsidian main shaft is Aluminium ?
One set of the spool reducers is as useful as a Chocolate Fireguard IMO (Capacity left on spool very small).
Anybody know what they could be used for ?
Bob
ps Got 3 Obsidian's but not used yet.

In reply to Post #1 I've been using the obsidians since launch and very impressed with them, seriously good value for the price, very light and excellent smooth clutch.

In reply to Post #1 Had exactly the same dilemma. Had the emblems and made the switch to the obsidians. Haven't regretted it at all.
