In reply to Post #12 Ignore me I saw something about it last year I think lymm anglers posted it. It’s now back to 24hrs and multiple rods must have been a test of the rule or just one that could be put in.

In reply to Post #11 Shakerly is still a day ticket but 1 rod only days only now
Is that a very recent change or is the board there out of date? I looked at it, must be a few weeks ago, still had prices for multiple rods and 24+ hours. I'll have another look when next there.

In reply to Post #9 Shakerly is still a day ticket but 1 rod only days only now. Not sure about sand and dove only just joined PAASi do know that they get busy year round (sand and dove).

In reply to Post #9 Not 100% sure but I think both Sand and Dove have been in PAAS for quite a long time. Dove is the one bordering the M6.

In reply to Post #8 You might be able to answer this but whichever one it is (sand or Dove) that borders the M6, did it used to be a day ticket? The names ringing a bell from well over a decade ago if I'm thinking rightly.
I'm led to believe there was a big fish kill on Shakerley a few years ago, most of the original stock lost but it was restocked. I speak to a few of the lads on my rounds though there aren't what I'd call many 'regulars' as in week in week out. Unfortunately, as is life, I've seen a few dead ones on my walks round, a couple of mid doble commons last year, reported it to one of the lads fishing so he could tell the bailiff. I also regularly see them spawning and to quote the Mrs last year as one cleared the water 'that wasn't a double'...lol
Most of those I see spawning or caught are commons yet in summer you'l see lots of small mirrors basking...odd.
When I used to fish it, to my knowledge, the biggest was a 28 which would go 30, I'd like to think the new stocking will go bigger if they have the genetics and the food (maybe they already have, I've no idea).

In reply to Post #6 Sandmere & Dovemere do get very busy, I don't think Shakerley is that busy. As you say JP, on the Lymm ticket but it's also on a day ticket. Not been for donkeys years, but my lad has been at the weekend recently-ish and it wasn't too busy.

Just done a couple of laps with the dogs, no one on, fish in the margins all over and spawning in one area!
I'm not sure if it's the club or the council, but clearing the overhanging shrubs from between the pegs is a bloody silly thing to do from a nature and fishing pov. If it's the club, we'll done, lots more areas for dogs to jump in the water now.

This pic will be deleted after a while

In reply to Post #5 Are we talking about the same place? I often walk it, sometimes 3 times a week, nearly always on a weekend, and it's rarely 'really busy', I often comment to the Mrs how underfished it is. Come to think of it, in general, I don't think I've often seen many more that say 10 anglers even in summer
You do tend to find, like a lot of other places, if the whispers start about one coming out it's busier for a few weeks, then it dies down again
I keep thinking about getting the LAC ticket again. I know the place doesn't have more to offer than when I fished it in the 90's but it'd be convenient...hmm...maybe a day ticket or too but I confess the doga walkers put me off....me being one of them

I'm forever looking to see if they're any bivvies on there as I drive past it frequently and live relatively locally (junct 18)
If you look over the the other side of the M6 on maps, I walk my dogs regularly round Shakerley.
