It’s something that I do quite often. Spider type dry flies work on a zig on or near the surface, but no better than aligners in my experience, and aligners probably stay up better. Bread flies work well at any depth. On fly tackle, carp will take flies on a very slow retrieve or fished under an indicator.

A couple of brands have made them
Unfortunately they all looked like dog dirt
I can think of a few flies I would happily use on a zig

I've been tidying my tackle over the past few days (coarse, carp and fly stuff) and when I was going through my flies, wondered if they'd be any use on a zig rig for carp rather than a bit of foam?

Has anyone used a fly on a zig? I know buoyancy could be any issue with most flies apart from the ones that rely on foam (boobies etc) but dowsing in powder would help with that for a short time.
