I remember a guy fishing one of the midkent waters rip back in the day with the shot on the hook rig and had fantastic results
That was 20+ years ago so it’s not a new rig, it’s a forgotten rig with the likes of DF and others who make videos bringing it back so new people into this sport can use

In reply to Post #1 I’ve been using shot on the hook for the last 3 years now…
Started with the tungsten beads (pb products and poleposition)
They do their job and drive the hook to the bottom lip but most of these beads have a limited use. The beads tear apart after 2 or 3 catches. I see no use in paying 6 - 8 € for a bead that can’t be reused multiple times. So, switched back to the traditional shot on the hook which has the same functionality.
Btw, a shot on the hook combined with a spinner rig and small pop-up is a very aggressive rig. Check the Dutch ace loaded rig on YouTube

See the latest craze everyone using the Tungsten Hook Beads. Does anyone on here actually use it and does it provide better hook holds or just another marketing fad?
From my eye it looks so bulky but fishing places where barbless is an requirement if this can help with better hook holds willing to give it a go. Would be using it on spinner rigs.
Any info as always appreciated
