Great find . . . .have never managed to get reels booked in with Weston - lead times too long and more pricey than Future Fishing etc

@littleian - can I post reels to you?

Not planning on getting them done yet but it's good to have a solid recommendation for when I do

I can second that, great tackle shop and Ian's reel servicing is first class. Highly recommended if you're in the East Essex area.

Quick heads up to anyone essex based. I was chatting with Ian on here for ages about getting my reels serviced. Never got round to it till a few weeks back. Nothing wrong with my reels but they get dipped in a silty lake fairly regularly so wanted to get them a bit of tlc.
Dropped them in at reeled in tackle near Southend, where ian now works.they were ready by the following weekend.
Ian kept in touch whilst doing them, offered honest advicewhen i asked about washers etc, which id have quite happily paid for, but he advised i didnt need them.
The reels have come back like brand new. They were in fantastic condition when theywent in, ians words, but now they feel like new.
What really tops the service off though, the price. £25 per reel, obviously any parts needed etc are extra, which is nearly half what weston charge, and the turn round time is no where near that of westons.

Lovely little shop as well, i made sure i went in and left quick before i started shopping though.
Unfortunately i didnt get to meet ian, as he doesnt work weekends, and i could only get in on saturdays, but hes been super helpful via messages.
If your reels beed a service, get in quick before they realise they can charge more.
