In reply to Post #12 It certainly was !
It looks the same in the photos and I don't think it is made by Peirsels that manufacturered it when Dave Chilton owned Kryston, I used to get mine direct from s bloke that worked in the factory in the late 80's ! ( along with all other Kryston braids )

In reply to Post #13 Anton’s used it before so I’m sure he’ll know if it’s acceptable, I had a quick Google and it looks to be the same specification as it used to be, maybe a bit more orange in colour, but I wouldn’t think that’s important as a leader, for the small cost to buy he’ll know soon enough and can update the thread.

In reply to Post #11 As I said, not sure it’s the same stuff, if it’s anything like the original you’ll remember it was almost indestructible.

In reply to Post #1 Not sure if it’s the same stuff now but way back when I fished Raduta there was a product called Ton up from Kryston, it was absolutely spot on against the mussels and snags in there, and they were there in abundance.

In reply to Post #7 The mussels are absolutely savage and the size of my hand and I am looking for anyone else's suggestions really as to what may be better that I am not aware of.

In reply to Post #1 have found 65lb cygnet/trakker leadcore abrasion resistant, also use 100lb prologic downforce braid which has good resistance for a braided leader ,best mono ive used was prologic mimicry in 0,60mm which has a slippery surface to it and have found it really good.not tried the mono snag leaders from fox or trakker so cant comment
the kevlar hollow core as suggested sounds interesting, will have to investigate when i run short of leader material, cheers

In reply to Post #1 Don't think you'll do much better than thick (thicker if 50lb - 0.60 diam? - isn't enough) flourocarbon?

In reply to Post #2 Does this product need to be spliced or can it be knotted ?

In reply to Post #1 Some ideas to look at.
I am not bound by any rules as such as fishing public waters with either braid as mainline or 18lb Synchro as mainline.

In reply to Post #3 I think that’s a key point, diameter, it’s alright having high strength braid but it needs to be thick if people want it for abrasion resistance. I’ve was using Daiwa J Braid more recently, pings like cotton on rocks, a thick braid will take a lot more stick.
