I have the basic Blockhouse and it seems far better than this new version.

Mine holds up well in wind when pegged out with the guide ropes etc.

Not got the porch poles for mine but the multiple door choices are decent but not perfect as said in below posts.

I had a play with one today at Essex Carp show and as per my previous post the front porch really isn't anything more than storage area/making sure rain don't come into the bivvy.

The internal mozzie infill panel is a great addition, unfortunately the skull cap was not there to have a look at. More alarming for me was the new tension bars was bending like mad in indoor environment. Hate to see how they get on in some wind 😂. It also appears there are no wraps available for the new model which is a shame as I do use mine in winter when needing to do some work

Also what is the porch extension actually for? Its only the width of the door so hardly usable space for anything other than storage. It looks like it wont be very secure in wind unless you use endless guide ropes etc and the storm poles doesn't even come with the tent.

My biggest gripe with the blockhouse was when it rains it leaks in water from the door due to the slanted design but it seems the skull cap will help prevent that which is good at least. Solar does a much better design with their quick up shelter. The peak design stops any rain from coming in and with the 3rd skin you have additional usable space and additional protection against the elements. Just a shame the dimensions isn't as good as the blockhouse design!

Seriously, go for the older model and save yourself some money. While the new version has a 2 way door, you're paying at leat £300 more for a few pieces of metal and fabric. I'm not sure how solid the porch extension would be in a strong wind.

You can keep it in. But its £1000 for a blockhouse and another £200 for the skull cap. Absolutely crazy. My Blockhouse cost less half that new with same material

Hi
Can you pack away the blockhouse with the single person inner capsule fitted or do you have to take it out to pack down?
