In reply to Post #17 That is virtually identical to the Rod Hutchinson "Team Shelter" I mentioned earlier. They are perfect for day sessions
But, that is not a beach shelter unless your on the beach when their is no wind, Beach shelters for fishing have big flaps along the bottom of the shelter to bury with sand to help hold them down in the Wind as tent pegs will not work, unless they are very long

In reply to Post #14 I got excited that I'd found something close to what you were looking for & I didn't read the reviews TBH.
The search continues..
There must be others out there.

In reply to Post #13 That is exactly the thing im after! However reviews say and also looks.... abit flimsy.
If that was better quality it would be ideal!!!

In reply to Post #11 Yeah thats the sort of thing i am after. I actually have a daiwa sandstorm beach shelter as i do abit of sea fishing, but its bright yellow and doesnt have pegging points as it relys the use of sand to weigh it down.
Something like this would be ideal but ive not seen anything in freshwater fishing remotely similar. The focus seems to be it must house a bedchair but i dont want to put a bedchair in it (i take my tempest for overnighters). It would also be handy for the extremely tight swims on my local club lake.
A brolly appears to be the only real option but they have their limitations ie no sides, too wide and a centre pole that hase to be dug into the ground (not ideal in summer).
I think the OMC noble wind shelter is on the right track but it looks too fiddly and over priced.
The market seems saturated with brollys from every company that house bedchairs.... but nothing with a small footprint for a chair and a rucksack for days only.

In reply to Post #1 Not that this is going to help you but I still use an original John Holden beach buddy for day sessions I have had it probably 35yrs
There are loads of similar ones just as long as your lakes have a sense of humour regarding colour

In reply to Post #9 Are these Team shelters like the Hutchy Brotel ?
My mate had a Brotel think it was made by Relum and had a zip involved at the back to set it up
It was ever so light in weight

In reply to Post #7 I had a couple of hutchy team shelters in early 2000’s. It was like a fox evolution and could take a bedchair when set low.
Never seen them come up second hand which is a shame.

Something like a beach buddy the sea anglers use. Not seen anything like that in the fresh water fishing market? <<<<
A good few years ago, Rod Hutchinson brought out the "Team Shelter" and it was virtually same design as a "Beach Buddy", maybe just a bit bigger as you could get a bed in widthways, brilliant piece of kit, folded up small and very light, 3 poles and just 4 pegs needed, You could errect in in a couple of minutes or quicker. You could make it as wide or low as you wanted and be able to sit underneath. You could even get an overwrap for it with door and 3 windows and a groundsheet for complete protection, I used mine all the time for years as my main bivvy, all Summer and Winter and if I was staying a few days etc, use the overwrap, Sadly well out of production and no other manufacturer took over the design and I would never part with mine, mainly because of its simplicity.
But, looking at a lot of the day shelters today and how cumbersome they are, I would still use a normal umbrella instead for just a day and even a one or two nighter. They was good enough in the 60's and still just as good today but just simply overlooked by carp anglers who need to be seen with a "Bivvy", otherwise, your not a carp angler or your out of fashion

In reply to Post #1 I have an Advanta brolly for day sessions. Not expensive, well made and gives you more coverage than a traditional brolly. The Fox Specialist is similar but a few quid more and often difficult to find in stock
