I use the Arelex 10,000 spod on my 9fts, I was going to get something else when I got the rod, but it balances really well.

In reply to Post #6 I use a third okuma 6000 inc for a spod reel on a 10ft dwarf spod rod, not had any issues

In reply to Post #5 I just use the same reels and load a spool up with braid
I only want to cast as far as I can with the fishing rods so do not really need to change styles or effort.

In reply to Post #1 Assuming you already use 9 foot rods as your fishing rods
What reels do you use on them.

In reply to Post #1 I’d say any half decent small fixed spool reel would do the job, as long as the drag can be cranked up tight to avoid slippage. You’re not going to be casting to the moon with 9ft rods anyway.

In reply to Post #1 Look at the Okuma custom spod range. Okuma make great reels at great prices.

My stepped up 9ft rod arrived today and I was going to use it as a spod/marker, I have a Diawa 20 cross cast 5000 qd big pit spod reel but when fitted it looks to big for the rod and is a tight squeeze when trying to put it in the scope3 rod holdall
Idea's please on what smaller reel would do the job
Thanks
