It's been a long time coming but I though I'd share this. Ross @ Krakken Tackle has made me some reducers for my Daiwa Infinity X 5500BR reels. They take the capacity of 0.37mm line down to 220m which is perfect for me. I also have another set of spools loaded with 0.35mm Spiderwire Dura Core and the 150m spool fits perfectly. This braid takes up more space than round line and you don't want the spool too full.
Ross has been a star throughout, very easy to work with. I paid for all my spools including the prototype, the reason for posting this is that it may help others who'd like a spool reducer for this reel, I do not receive anything for it.
EDIT, available in black or hi viz green as standard. (or is it chartreuse)

I have managed to borrow a Emblem-Z 5500A spool I'm pretty sure the spool dimensions are correct. If I model a prototype on this spool would I be able to ship it to you when its done to confirm and you get a free reducer

This is the other option, but if I can do it locally I would prefer it. If I did do it this way then I would provide a full set of reducers for who ever can provide me with a spare spool.

Thinking aloud, possible suggestion/idea,
as most people will be buying in multiples why not offer a discount on the purchase if they'll send you a spool to design your reducer against? Great time of year to be doing it espesh if they only have one set of spools

Karlos said it was ok to post my current product and id expect every reel to take me about the same time to design and material to produce it so all prices should be around the same.

I believe also the Shimano reducers I currently do are also the same size for the obsidian reels. Still need to confirm this. My biggest obstacle is getting spools so I can design and prototype before I'm happy with the quality. I'm lucky to be a bailiff on St Ives lakes so I'm hoping there will be people who can let me borrow an empty spare spool so I can model and test.

Only on the one spool though, if you need multiple spools you may need multiple reducers.

I can't seem to find any of the 6000 spools for them anymore...only ones I've seen were secondhand and they wanted twice the price I bought my current lot NEW for

Dont suppose you have the capacity by diameters do you? I know manufacturers capacities are worthleess anyways but it will give me an ideal. I can only find information on capacity based on breaking strain which is even more worthless :D

Dont these have a shallow spool provided? Or do you think they would still benefit from being able to reduce the deep spool?
