In reply to Post #11 Yeah I went a couple years ago and it was rammed with them. Still not really sure what happened on that trip, my excuse is that it was during the first cold snap

In reply to Post #10 Blimey, that surprises me! I've never fished anywhere other than tight in on the margins on the middle pool, off the rod tips not other side. I used to fish it a lot but Ive only been once since it became uber popular, but even then it was the same, a multiple fish day only, good by the going standard. A lot of the people who fish it are too loud on the bank and in the way they fish, it's not a hard water but it's easy to scare them off.

In reply to Post #9 I was on middle pool at Baden was abit of a half hearted attempt at catching didn’t see a carp show, saw one on the surface and 1 dead. Just focused on the social side of thing after that, not a single fish came off the complex that night as it was acouple days after all the snow melt rushed in.

In reply to Post #4 I fished it quite a few times with the father in law near a decade ago, days only, and tbh I didn't find it easy as such, but it was around now, half the time ice floating about, though the lads who fished at night always had a few.
And then there was the day only a small patch of water was open near the hut and the father in law had 3 in a hour...go figure.
At one time you could fish the water over the road using Carp Tactics, it was better sport, lots of lovely commons.
What are you looking for size wise and water wise, runs?
Where did you fish on Baden to blank?

In reply to Post #7 Was a bit of a shame as the handful of carp that a do know of were wonderful but if it was just that handful might not have been the one for a social in December. Hopefully can go in summer on the floaters see what’s really in there.

In reply to Post #6 Fair enough Max, it doesn't help that they don't have a website and their Faceache page isn't exactly up to date. Defo worth a visit in the summer though.

In reply to Post #5 I was the one who asked about the fishery afew months ago, never ended up going and decided on Baden hall instead (blanked). Did not go because of lack of info will potentially go in summer but did not want to go and spend my money at a lake that I have not info in in the middle of winter.

In reply to Post #4 To tell you the truth, I've never fished it even though it's only about 5 miles from me. But my eldest has fished it and has had quite a few. He usually fishes the Main Lake, but he has occasionally fished Peck's across the road from the Main Lake. He's had a few out in the colder months. It's not a bad looking place, a good head of carp to just over 30lb.
EDIT - if you do a search on moreton in Venues UK, there;s another thread. Perhaps ask the OP if he went and give you some feedback.

In reply to Post #3 What’s Moreton like? There’s not much info, website etc do you mean the specimen lake?

In reply to Post #1 Try Moreton Fisheries in Congleton.

Hey Rich,
Have a look at Wyreside Sunny 1 and 2, heading up there soon for a winter day session.
Bradshaw Fisheries - Lake 2. I have several 18-25s out last winter over a very cold weekend.
Mere Lane Fisheries - Carp Lake or even The Old Lake, while only 2rods is packed full of low double mirrors.
Cheers,
Harrison
