Yes, with my first set of Delks (txi's) I had Cotswold Aquarius make me 3 soft cases made from dpm cordura that was padded. I really like that style of case, but with the on/off switch on the Fox alarms, those don't seem a good choice (maybe causing a switch to turn on in transit home and draining batteries).

I think those rubber delkim cases were half the problem with people having issues with damp. Any bit of moisture and it’s pretty much sealed in to do it’s worst. I never used cases and other than one LED going dim I’ve gone over 10 years without issue.

Nothing wrong with being proud and looking after your kit/possessions..it shows respect to the effort and commitment you take to purchase it in the first place..

(..I chucked the awful txi Delkim Black rubber case's and the slightly softer case's in purple I had ) in favour of Peak Angling case's,much easier to get on n off,no scratches !

Yes I am very meticulous (maybe autistic) with these kinds of things. If I spend my hard earned on tackle I like, I want to keep it in as good of a condition I possibly can.

Dirt between the alarm and the case isn't possible as I always clean them after use. Possible just a bad fitting. I can try the boiling water and bending them a bit.

Thanks for your input!

I had 2 sets of MX’s (set of 4 and set of 3) and never had any problems with hard cases scratching the heads! Maybe there was one faulty one which over time got used on the whole set and scratched them all?

Could any dirt be getting into the hard case or splashing on the side of the alarm to cause the scratching?
I've just sold my RX+ after many years use, no scratches at all on them.
You could always try teasing the side of the cases out by using boiling, might work, though I think it'll be thermo set plastic.

The mx+'s have the same way of connecting, by the looks of it then. Maybe mine are just poor fitting.

Only about 12months. I'm not sure how it compares to the MXs, but the RX+ covers locate loosely over the ears first, and then clip tight around the 3/8th bankstick thread to hold them on.

Here is a picture of my mx+'s that shows the scratches of the case on the alarms.

Good to read that you don' t have this issue. I hope your not the only one with good fitting hard cases. Have you had the alarms long?
