In reply to Post #10 Agreed, I’ve only used bait screws with them for many years now and never had an issue

In reply to Post #1 Apparently Advanced Hookbaits pop ups have resulted in the captures of more 60lb plus fish than any other hookbait, according to their Insta!

In reply to Post #9 Screws are perfectly fine to use with them too 👌

In reply to Post #1 Get on the old S2's mate - you wont go wrong, deadly in spring when the carp are on the move. Fished on short chods or hinges. Apple core them down to make the rig sit perfect. Deadly as singles, its all you need. Dont use screws, blob down with floss on hook ring swivels.
Flick over to the garlics when the water temp rises. Fished over a spread of Poachers Tiger and maple.....devastating.
Be lucky.

In reply to Post #1 Imo in the spring the S1 you won't find a better hook bait

On a re read I thought I better answer part 2 of your question and clarify. I don't use either bait maker for 3 reasons,
1, I don't fish the sorts of waters where I might need them, ie, a food source that can remain out a long time for a special fish.
2, Cost, if I used them on the waters I fished where I'm often re casting every hour they would work out very expensive!
3, I'm quite happy using the baits I do use which tend to be matching to the boilies I use, with some exceptions.
Wayne's last comment is particularly relevant. I have been known to change lots of things for a trip abroad, simply from the pov of being able to say I tried as hard as I could (for me). It's a long way to go and a big expense to have any doubts on return. I might feel the same way if I was fishing a low stocked U.K water for special fish. If I felt so inclined I wouldn't hesitate to use SB given the feedback on the threads, again I know not of AH

In reply to Post #1 IMO no……that said you can’t put a price on confidence so you pay your money and take your chances……

In reply to Post #1 I'm a fan of the S2, but only really when single bait fishing. I'd recommend specialized. I'll be ordering from them again soon.
The only thing I can say about Advanced Hookbaits is rumours and it wouldn't be fair to comment as I haven't actually used their baits.
What first attracted me to specialized was I wanted a hookbait that was sweet and food grade/as natural as possible. Any other sweet bait that I smelled always smelled chemically and false.

In reply to Post #1 The cheese has honestly made my year, every fish on my France trip came on one and it was only on one rod, bloody mate had a 55lb common on one, and they have been awesome on my club water. Can’t see my bag ever not having a pot in.

In reply to Post #1 If you look a few threads down on the page you'll see a thread re Specialized Hookbaits, there are a few of them, the results speak for themselves
I don't know anything about AH,

Hi, what's people's thoughts on advanced hookbaits and specialized hookbaits? Are they worth the extra money at £15-£20 a tub. Thanks.
