Either this one on Youtube "'Go to' Carp Rig | Mike Holly | Carp Fishing" or Darrell Peck's multi rig.

In reply to Post #23 I've been using mono rigs for the last few years... can't say I feel like I've missed out tbh
Although, I did like a rig where I can keep the boom sections to re-use but tying mono rigs up takes about a minute.

I feel so inadequate reading this thread lol. 90% of my angling I just use a no knot with uncoated braid and a small piece of silicone to position the hair depending on what buoyancy bait Iām using.
For distance work I use an amnesia d~rig.

I have tried many, quick hook change rigs and the following worked really well for me.
A Blowback style Noodle Rig with a "Hook Klip"
If you fish the Noodle with just a regular slip D style, this means you can really get away with using mesh bags because the D will close up on the cast.
So by tying the hook clip on with a big loop which you feed a swivel or screw on to, you can have that blow back style without the worry of the loop closing on the cast.
Problem with the hook klip is finding a kicker that will securely hold the hook in place but at the same time is beg enough for someone to actually slip over the klip. I have found the best kickers for this job to be the OMC kickers, I am obviously using the long one they offer.

In reply to Post #19 That rig is very good š I tie my loop with coating still on then strip the coating just off the loop.I was having the coating bunching doing it the other way, this way it can't as the coating is trapped in the knot.

I use hybrid stiff combi rig with loops and a kicker.

In reply to Post #18 I tried making the mike holly rig with silicon tubing but found it a bit of a faff. I now use pre made line aligners, much easier and I think better. Easier and quicker to replace the hook than shrink tubing, which I also tried.

If you use the slid d multi like mike holly or darrel peck but prefer a wide gape hook, ridgemonkey do a curve kicker that is perfect for it saves changing shrink tube when you change the hook and you can make a line-aligner with them too if you prefer that.

In reply to Post #12 The great thing about this set up is that you can use pretty much any type of hook. Just use what you are currently using. Depending upon the hook shank length then I just adjust the pie e of silicone tubing to fit. I like just a small gap in the unconcoated loop, just enough to lift and turn . Most recently I've been using with a Klor, hooknholds have been solid.

In reply to Post #13 I do have some longshank muggas, not sure if they would work perhaps

In reply to Post #12 I use a curve shank, either a Korda one or a Mugga.

In reply to Post #5 I forgot about this rig / variant
What hooks are you guys using for these? Or does it not really matter? I've never been a fan of curve shank hooks tbh
I prefer chod / longshank (smaller sizes) for most of my rigs ideally
Thanks

In reply to Post #9 Same for me pop ups. Going to give the meccano rig a go for a bottom bait presentation I think. Same principle really and I like the idea of the long extension of the shank.
