I use a long ESP Xtra long bait stick/stringer needle but leave the protective transit silicone outer on (like a bic biro) to pierce through the mesh. Once the bag is pierced I remove the outer and pull through the hooklink with the latchgate as normal. Usually negate putty as a counter weight and use the largest tungsten sinker (barrel shape) I can find - never catches / puncture in mesh remains small . . . .

Same as Beyonce - PB stick threader works great for it only cost a couple of quid from memory

Also doubles up as a chod tool for getting the D sections on perfect

Bic pen, pull it apart. Put hook link in side the pen tube and push through bag. Seal hole with either the cut off bag top, lick and stick. Or a small bit or pva nugget.

open up the hole(s) so the putty can pass through & into the bag. gently squeeze the bag a few times as you pull on the hooklink & it should easily pass through.

I use the same method with Chod tool. Just add some liquid to the pellets and they will not fall off easily.

You could thread the bag down the rig to your hook, then put the putty on after. Suppose it depends on how close your putty is to your hook, would be OK if it's say a German Rig with the putty about an inch from the hook.

I use a PB products mesh bag threader. Basically a discourger with a sharp end. I use a powdered stick mix with pellets in rather than just pure pellet. Works a treat for me.

Pulling a rig with tungsten putty near the hook, through a mesh bag of mini pellets.

Now I've done this with pva sticks as I can use a chod-it tool to make the hole a bit larger so the rig with putty will pull through. But how do you do it with a bag of mini pellets?

Obviously making the hole bigger means the pellets fall out?

Used an esp semi stiff and broke the coating about 5mm from the eye of the hook. Tried hooking the bag on but the hair was sometimes wrapping around the hook on the cast.
