In reply to Post #13 Where did I say it never happens,I know it finished Woolworths. They bought a company out and had to much of a share in a certain industry and debt and fines crippled them.I had really close friends lose their jobs from the company they bought out

In reply to Post #11 They can't do it,it is against the law in the UK to monopolise the market

In reply to Post #5 I can see angling direct being in a position to control the market with the volume of products they could buy at a much better price than others
What I think will happen is that tackle companies will not want to have one dominant customer and will start to sell online
Korda are now doing this with their clothing range and I can only see it getting bigger
Nash are selling products on e bay
My town once had 5 tackle shops, now it has one that sells predominantly coarse fishing tackle
95% of my tackle is now bought online and although it’s not the same as looking at it in a shop it’s still better than £20 every time I visit a shop in fuel

In reply to Post #4 I can see total fishing being sold off with the amount of sales and deals ( not necessarily always the cheapest) they do....angling direct seem to target them theat do deals, good deals too....Eric's angling, future fishing, fosters of Birmingham to name but a few....anywhere that takes business off them I think they'll target and look to neutralise the competition. theyre not bothered with the likes of The tackle box or johnson Ross as they mostly sell at full price but excell at customer service. it's the ones that do the deals they will target which is bizarre really as angling direct could with their buying power in quantities they could be the cheapest around but choose not to. they want full rrp and with the monopoly they will have will cash in big time in years to come.

In reply to Post #2 I doubt Total Fishing Tackle are going anywhere anytime soon...but it might just be a handful of big online shops left to pick from
