Got a friend who used the avid, after 2 lost fish that he snapped up on while playing he tested it and could break it by giving it a decent pull with his arms.

On 2 sets of reels i have had gardner noir, sbx in 25lb and 40lb and the avid camo outline. The best casting of all of them is the avid it sinks okay too is plenty strong isnt as strong/robust as the other 3 if distance is the main concern it's the one I would go with. For an arounder I would have the sbx 25lb it casts good (I can easily hit 100 yards with a cross wind and I'm not a big caster) the 25lb is more than strong enough, the 40lb is tow rope i feel its overkill for most situations. The noir is the middle ground sinks good feels less robust than both sbx breaking strains, casts better than the 40lb but not as good as the 25lb sbx. As someone else said the sbx has a coating on when new it will get on your alarms and rod rings just needs cleaning off not a big deal and will sink even better after the coating is gone.

I've used the original Hyrdro-sink, the noir and the 25lb SBX.
The noir was good, but I have moved over to the SBX now. The SBX took a little while before it sank well (I think there was a residue from the manufacturing process) but it now sinks well and casts better than the noir.
The Avid braid also gets good reviews.

What are the casting distances and fishing conditions that you want it for?

The noir is great used of for a while, but It does fade but will do you a great job, I moved onto the Thinking anglers sbx and found the sbx to be better but obvs that's just my opinion, also I've been spalled up since release and it hasn't faded at all!

Started a new syndicate which is incredibly weedy, and braid is permitted. Quite a few lads recommend the noir... Has anyone used it to good effect? Or is there another sinking braid I should consider!!
TIA
