. . . .now the proud father of a pair! Something strange about not having a pair (at least) of matching rods

After discovering the eyes on my JW Travel Barbel rod had disintegrated in storage I had an excuse . . but if your in the market for a decent travel rod to sneak into your suitcase then you should def take a look at the Freespirit 9' CTX Travel Tamer.

4x Piece / 2.5tc with a 30mm butt ring, fuji reel seat and full jap shrink with a flared butt, I coupled mine with an SS2600 which balanced perfectly. Used for a week in Croatia I did some lure fishing and simple ledgering with squid hookbaits and caught some decent bass (even tho I'm a sea fishing noddie) amongst other unknown species! Lovely action for a 4x piece and comes in a solid zip top tube for protection.

I took tip-tops and rigged it up for the week as a two piece so I could roam about; will double perfectly as a margin sly rod for UK fishing / small water carboot set up. Def got an excuse to expand my 'mobile' sea fishing kit and now looking for a compact tripod for pontoon/piers etc . . .might even buy another 9' CTX to make a 'pair' . . .
