That's unlucky tbh. Our average over 70 odd fish was 31lb

Fished wild boar on a quick bank holiday long weekend trip a few years back and to be honest with you it was ok we managed about 30 odd fish between 2 of us but no size I don’t think 1 went 20.

Looking round the complex it’s not for me but people like it and it’s not far from the ferry and it works for some,

I won a complex-wide match from wildboar a few years ago. We had over 70 fish out up to low 40.

The next year the same peg blanked and we had more fish out of fox than the best peg on wildboar did

There are some really shallow areas so the lake is very dependent on the time of year that you go

Lots of boilie (the herb) definitely does well on wildboar. Steer clear of blatant pop ups

Thanks very much mate, appreciate it. I'll probably give it a miss in that case 😂

No electric in the pegs. I went on there during the COVID times, the whole place was stacked out . And as you can book from whenever you want rather than Saturday to Saturday there's no draw. I arrived Saturday early morning and had a choice of 2 swims, one of which was realistically too small. Some pegs fished far better than others, a few blanked for the week too. It's not the "runs water" they make out for sure. You can have some huge hits, but only in the right spots. The crays can be a pain. There are some quite snaggy areas. Tbh that was my 4th trip to abbey and it will be my last. It's far too busy these days and a bit of a circus

I ended up with 14 carp for the week, only 2 were low 30s the rest were mid double to 29, and 2 cats up to 122lb

Hey fellas,

I'm thinking of taking a trip to Wild Boar on the Abbey complex.

I know for some of the other lakes on the complex people arrive there a day early to claim a decent peg. Is this the done thing on Wild Boar too or would I be OK showing up on the day?

Is it a peggy lake or generally OK?

If anyone has any tips or info on the lake it would be much appreciated.

Also, does anyone know if there any electricity sources on your pegs there?

Thanks in advance boys

Cheers,

Ben
