For those having issues with ads on an iPhone, give Brave browser a try as an alternative to Safari. I have been using it after recommendations on here and the forum site has gone from unreadable with ads to zero.

I've just done some work on the code and have now implemented a way to block the ads, so I have blocked any Google Ads for my user.
No more horrible great screen covering ads where you have to click the close button.
Page loads a bit quicker and it renders better on mobile phones.
This feature/addition will be available as part of CarpForum 'premium'

In reply to Post #14 Good spot 👍🏼
Saves you spending money aswell then 😆
I suppose you can always turn it on and off when needed? Bit of a faff though.
Edit: Just tried it, literally takes seconds.

In reply to Post #11 I've removed again for now as it blocks things like affiliate links, for example Google search for something and click on the 'shopping' results

In reply to Post #9 Nice one Cam, thanks.
I find the adverts aren't shown some days, and then other days I get an advert every page
I am not sure why it's so on+off
I never get adverts when surfing on my PC using Chrome, well, the banner adverts...but not those hugely annoying ones that fill the whole screen and they are boring/grey/text with the close button top right

In reply to Post #9 Works on here, but also my Facebook adverts seem to have stopped

In reply to Post #9 I just tried that on my android tablet, had to end and restart chrome but it seems to be working so far.
I've been too lazy to install an ad block so far as only really get the ad problem on the tablet and not the phone.
Cheers

In reply to Post #8 Gets rid of the riff-raff then 😁
So, I done some research on this as I was getting them on my phone and you can set Private DNS to "dns.adguard.com"
This is done in your phone settings not chrome/browser.
The path to it on your Android phone is (or should be) Settings -> Connections -> More connection settings.
Working so far.

I mainly use my work laptop to browse and they have blocked the option of adding an adblocker so, I just have to deal with it
