Gents are talking about the Solar SP Recliner Chair MKII ?, some retailers advertise as MKII some do not, presumably they are one and the same ? Prices seem to be dropping especially on the low back version so was wondering if Solar are about to launch a new version bit like what they did with the SP C- Tech bed chair. Thanks.

In reply to Post #36 I realised your definition of slouching may be for different reasons, so, if it's because you want your head on the back of the chair then YES you will need to slouch. As I said before I'm a little over 6' and me head is virtually completely above the chair so it wouldn't be for me. I've been looking for ages for a chair where it isn't and one of the few seems to be the Fox already mentioned, not sure if that's the same one as the other 1 they do with a extension on the top. I've yet to see one in the flesh and at that price I'm not buying blind.

In reply to Post #1 I’ve got the SP C-Tech chair like some others on this thread. I also recently bought the sofa chair which is not worth the £165 price tag. In fact, I don’t find it comfy at all. After a short period of time it starts hurting my hips with the pressure. It’s the way it’s designed by hugging you into the seat. In theory it should be mega comfy but I think it’s a waste of money. It’s compact and lighter than the C-Tech which is why I bought it. It’s lower to the ground so not great if you’re a taller guy. I have noticed the difference getting up out of the sofa chair compared to the high recliner C-Tech. I’ll be selling the sofa chair when I get chance to take photos to list it.
The SP C-Tech is comfy BUT it’s not the best on the market. Don’t get me wrong, I do rate it. Although my pal has the Fox R- series (I think it’s called), cost £240 but it’s noticeably more comfortable. It is twice the price of my SP C-Tech but it’s mega. I never want to get out of his chair when I sit in it.

In reply to Post #36 So would you recommend the sofa chair then?

In reply to Post #35 I don't think you'll be slouching mate, I'm just over 6' and it's fine for me. I did just get the chair out and there isn't much adjustment in the front legs, unless I've done something wrong about 10cm, that takes the front to 37cn H, under the knee.

Is the Solar Sofa Chair (extended legs) as high off the ground as the recliner chair? I’m 6ft 1 so don’t wanna be slouched….. cannot find the measurements on the Solar website?

In reply to Post #31 I was in the same boat, I really didn't fancy arms on a chair. To me they always look a bit more camper than fisher, and thought they would be awkward. But bit the bullet and bought the C tech low a couple of weeks ago. Having used it 3 or 4 times it really is as good as people are saying and I've found the arms don't get in the way at all.

In reply to Post #30 A few years ago I would have agreed but now I need the arms to make it easier to get up out of the chair and also into it
You know what Gerry, you've now got me thinking about future proofing my chair by getting arms isn't growing old fun!

In reply to Post #26 RE .as for making arm rests part of the design.....I dont bloody want them

some time ago I was lucky enough to go to FARLOWS at west drayton where they have/had most of the chairs on display THANK GOODNESS !!
as I was considering buying one of the moon chairs terrible things I struggled to get out and had to ask someone to help me I ended up buying a Levelite Long-back chair initially thought it was the best chair but few things bugged me sold it and bought the Solar SP C-TECH RECLINER CHAIR - HIGH and for me its perfection can recline it and doze off and if the need arises can get out of it easily

I don’t think you can go wrong with the Solar chair as detailed below or the Trakker recliner both super comfortable

All I want is some elastic on the seat.
Any of them got that?

In reply to Post #24 I will be getting the misses to measure me later to check your chair T......ooh errr
I see carping gear moving more toward comfort, height of bivvies etc and so they should imo, lots of older Carp anglers out there now with bigger disposables to boot.
Its just like 1 step forward 1 step back. In winter I would imagine quite a few of us do days and if nice don't bother with a shelter, but the winds can be a killer. We lose most of our heat through our heads yet most chairs head rests dont cover them. Same with falling asleep, head lolling over the back, not the best, and my days of slouching down are nearing over, so my back tells me!
Same re reclining, leave it on the design some still want to use it....as for making arm rests part of the design.....I dont bloody want them
My brews nearly always on a bucket to the side of my chair, much like my holdall and tackle box, I want to reach across to them not fight with a arm rest or get up to do so
And while I'm whining, lack of clamp on accessories, tables, cup holders, only seems to be korum at the mo. Edit, though I have mentioned Korda Klampons to Korda...lol
In all honesty I'm thinking about the Preston Absolute Feeder Chair, can set it lower, add accessories like trays, might be the way forward for me, can always get it covered in dpm
