Giving this a bump, I used to fish it with a lad down North Warborough way, parking just past the bridge. He did pretty well, but I lost interest at the time

Anyways, I fancy having a wander along there with a rod to see what I can find.

Just after a few pointers on where to park up to and around mytchett because my old legs wouldn't carry me there and back from Odiham 😂.

Only during day light hours too

Cheers

the long straight stretches were always good but the polish pretty much emptied the aldershot stretches.
As already said, walk it find a spot and prebait out of the way somewhere quiet

If you are going to fish once a week bait up when you are leaving with what you have left over.

Thank you. Prebaiting is a bit tough as I'm about an hour away, but I'll be trying for at least an overnight session a week. Like you say, I'll walk it as often as I can this summer and see if I can find some decent areas to try and focus on 👍

Walk it fella
You’ll soon find em on a warm day
I did a year or so fishing away from the known areas……they can be very nomadicbone fish i had trvelled a couple of miles between captures and had passed an area it could have easily just made its home…..my advice would be find a stretch they frequen then prebait
It worked for me

Thank you, appreciate it. Definitely think it's worth a few sessions this year to see what's about

It’s always been rumoured to be good around Lakeside, Frimley Green.

And yeah, completely understandable, I'd never ask anyone for swims, baits etc, just a good start, so thank you for the info ☺️

Cheers buddy, as I say I wasn't necessarily looking for exact spots etc, canal fishing is pretty new to me aside from the odd session on the float when I was 15 😂 however it seems like a way to get away from the masses and some proper gems I've seen from that canal! There just happens to be a lot of it 😂

You’re right mate nobody is going to give you too much info on here and it’s understandable. I know from your posts that you fish the farnham waters so you’re kind of in the right vicinity to a good stretch. Also you want to look for features, moored up boats, turning bays etc anywhere slightly different from the usual straight sections

I have a slight feeling I may not get too much here, however I'm looking to join Basingstoke Canal Angling this coming season.

Whilst I wouldn't want anyone to give up specific spots etc, would anyone be willing to suggest a good area to start? I know there are some very large fish in there through searching online, would just like a rough idea if possible?
