In reply to Post #32 Oh yeah I agree. I'm just countering the peolle in this thread that seem to think he HAD to do it on the bike. He chose the bike because its different, and makes interesting viewing. He absolutely could have fished 10x more effectively using a different mode of transport.

Was he travelling alone ? Some of those drone shots of him on his bike, how does that work ? I haven't watched it all so there might be an answer that I'm not aware of.

In reply to Post #27 It's his job at the end of the day. Each video needs to be a bit more "extreem" and more of an adventure than the last. He really could have just done it in a car, but it wouldn't look anywhere near as exciting.
I know your not 'having it' and I agree re the car but he did actually say why he was doing it and I say full credit to him. He's injected some excitement into what he was finding to be 'just his job' but more than that, on a personal level he wants to keep himself entertained so his love of fishing doesn't get stale...quite refreshing to be honest.
He managed to combine rekindling his love of bikes with refreshing his love of fishing and he took us along, what's not to like, hats off to him
and the only cost to you... a bit of your time and some electricity.

In reply to Post #29 Naaa. I'm not having it.
I'm naturally sceptical, but especially when it comes to television amd media like this. It's always going to be spun to make a good story. They're trying to sell you something at the end of the day,
If he was there to catch fish, A car, so he could carry proper sized rods would have been able to get where I've seen so far. And anywhere else could be accessed by boat, like he does in his other videos.
Don't get me wrong it's great viewing, but it's clearly playing to the cameras and trying to create a video, rather than trying to have an adventure.
Its like, we know bear Grylls didn't really sleep in a camel all night, and survive only on his own pee and snake eyeballs, but we still enjoy watching it. It's entertainment.

In reply to Post #27 He really could have just done it in a car
From what I saw some of the spots were totally inaccessible by car and he would likely have had to carry/push his gear for miles in order to get to the spots and do a hell of a lot of walking just to check out if there is access to the water, which a lot of the time there wasn't.

In reply to Post #27 Hey I'm not putting him down for it or slating him he can do what he likes each to their own and all that, listening to the podcast with Hassan it sounded like there were a few at HQ that were not happy with his last big pushing the boundaries video with the Jet-ski idea (still a great video in my book even if the jet skis were a failure), I think this one was why he probably choose a solo adventure.
I noticed one little edit failure in from episode one finishing and early in episode two, not so much a journey along its path to the end but a bit of returning to the same spot on the other bank after a few days with not a lot to show but I get it hes got to produce a film.
I take my hat off to his ambition and enthusiasm but I do like a bit of continuity when its all put together.

Fair play to him, I'd rather look to be making angling easier as I get older and the longer I've been doing it but whatever floats his boat I guess, he's like one of those sex addicts that's pushed it as far as he can go and looking for the next big kink to get him off, he's reached the upper level now and pushing the boundries travelling to Tokyo for some Jap shatting whilst I'm still looking at local Thai massage parlors with a happy ending.

I think some of the comments a bit laughable in this thread
FFS !!! the guy is following a frigging river some parts have a good road and access and he try`s a couple of days in them
while other sections difficult or impossible to reach with a car
so this is where his bike comes into play he is trying to find and try these spots
but he aint gonna drive past a good looking spot thats got good access is he ? the main goal is to catch some fish isnt it ?
all in all he shows everything the good and bad and his video`s are a breath of fresh air
a very likable chap and a bloody good angler too

In reply to Post #20 I actually find him more watchable than his Mrs tbh despite her assets, her accent grates on me. Another decent film/two films, and I like the way he's always fishing off piste to an extent.
