In reply to Post #142 Sports bikes going, sick of the aches and pains.
I’ve looked at a few, test drove a BMW s1000r the other week, nice bike, lot of violence going on lol, wind blast horrendous
I like the look of the new r1250rs. Think I’m gonna take one out
Mates a bike buff he has a Multistrada and a BMW s1000 XR, virtually the same bike

In reply to Post #140 Interesting first paragraph mate
Totally agree about the bike and electronics. A 500cc two stoke was just pure evil!

In reply to Post #129 I think Rossi left Honda because at the time he wanted a two year extension on his contract and they were only willing to offer him a one year extension which was madness seeing as he was winning races at the time but being the giants they are they stuck to their guns, he left a winning bike for a bike that wasn't winning and along with Burgess turned Yamaha into a winning team, it will be interesting to see if Marquez ever manages to do the same. Marquez used to idolise Rossi but I think he treats him with disrespect now, considering Rossi goes a long way to making Moto GP what it is today, like ive said before lets wait and see the slump in figures when he retires
As for hooligans, I witnessed some disgraceful drunkard behaviour at Donnington in 2001 when the tossers set fire to a load of portaloo's, in fact it was a frightening atmosphere which ive never experienced at a Spanish GP, I was camped out and had ****ers chucking up outside my tent.....nice!
And speaking of 2001 lets also not forget that Rossi was winning on the old 500cc machines which were far harder to ride than todays bikes, that's not to say MM wouldn't have won on them as well but it also just shows Rossi's longevity....2001 ff's sake.....my hair was jet black then....sadly its gone grey now!

In reply to Post #136 Money is massive. Once watched a Colin Edwards interview, he said a motor GP team bike would have diamond encrusted brake callipers on if they thought they needed it, in comparison to a WSB which he said it was like riding round in an armchair lol
Enjoy your ride, nice
Is that your Multistrada then?

In reply to Post #137 Done it and the factory when at the world ducati bike week. Some seriously wealthy people with some seriously expensive ducati's but I'm one of the poor relations, I actually ride mine though which is unusual as the the average owner seems to only do a thousand miles a year while I'll probably double that next week.

In reply to Post #134 Trouble is money, the financial gap number one in a team and number two can be massive and often this is done on purpose to create rivalry.
Anyway I'm off on a multistrada from home on South Coast to Scotland on Saturday, do the 500 and hope to go up through the lake district, only rules of the tour no motorway or dual carriageways.

In reply to Post #133 I don’t think anybody does, we just have our favourites, MM is a dirty rat, all part of a sport we love
Riders at a completely different level altogether
Except for TT / road racers, different level of Ming mong altogether
Would love to see Jonathon Rea in Moto GP

its a shame Lorenzo is injured and not getting on with the Honda. shame he moved from ducat just after getting the hang of riding it.id say he would of gave mm a race most weekends.as for puigi slagging him off on camera is bang out of order.i hope Jorge jumps ship end of the season and gets a ride elsewhere then starts showing his class..thats iff he doesn't retire.his heads all over the place at mo.crutchlow has said one more season then his off to live in California, zarcos got the boot from ktm..going to be a lot off shuffling about end of season I think..

In reply to Post #132 Not really, I don't like or dislike any of them really I just love watching them do what they do but I am well aware of the fact that as spectators we only get to hear what the pr lawyers want us to hear and often that is their version of the truth.
