Another vote for X line. Have used the 17lb for some year, sinks like a stone but a bit of a nightmare to cast any distance.

Good sinking mono is Fox Exocet. Never had any issues with it.

20lb x line for me as well. It won't cast far but nothing sinks like it! Been using it for at least 10 years

What good quality sinking mono would you recommend?

Another 20lb X-Line user here.

I've been using gardner mirage for around a year on a small water. I've used the 14lb version and it's been good. I even use it on small reels and, whilst it does need looking after, its performed brilliantly. Found a palomar knot is the best to use for this line b/s.

Flouro reel line is more a pain in the neck than its worth. I would go for a good quality sinking mono. The only one is used that was OK was Korda 12lb.
If you have big arbour spools you could get away with some flouro's but its a lot of faff.

20lb X-Line is still the one for me. Casts fine for a 0.37 line, sinks great, pretty well behaved for a flouro and it’s a decent price. Also tried the Berkeley stuff (CF600?) which was fine for 6 months then went brittle and wouldn’t take a knot. The Korda Kontour shredded too easily in weed. I just stick to Xline now

Straight throw with Tiger sees my maximum cast at about 60 yards, brilliant stuff but a casters nightmare, stripped it after 1st session and now only use for leaders, obviously just my experience and noddy casting!

Well it isn't Korda Kontour in 18lb I'm afraid . . . springy / casts like a pig / needs constant line management - sinks brilliantly however and is reasonable vfm / easy to top up spools by buying 3x 200m's!

Going to try PB Products Ghost Dragonfly in 15/18lb next based on multiple recommendations . . .

As title suggest,
Please can I get recommendations for the best fluro mainline?
Fishing a small place so casting at range isn’t necessary.

Cheers
