That's a good size bass mate!! My P.B is 6lb 2 and I was chuffed to bits with that! My dads caught big fish from all over the world but his 10lb 4 bass off the beach in Folkestone is his all time fish of a life time. Can't beat live prawns or peel crab as bait 👌🏻

Hi Guys....
I'm 54 and from Swansea and have been sea fishing for round 40yrs,mainly for Bass, but my back don't allow me to clamber over the rocks like i used to so i thought i would have a go at this carping malarky innit☺.....i've only been 3 times(2 lakes)and have caught 2 carp,1 @ 10lb 8 and the other @ 12lb 4,they give heck of a scrap dont they lol......i'm well and truely hooked(scuse the pun lol)
I'm not working atm so have had to buy cheaply but have put a few things together to get me by until i can upgrade.i also make my own boilies and pop ups to save a bit of cash. Not looking to fish specimen lakes, just the small commercials that are around my area..
Nice site by the way....
Cheers Guys

Hi All Just starting up again after 20+ years out. I did match fishing before but this time I prefer the chill out of carp fishing. Getting some gear together ready for the next year. Hoping to pick some tip up from this forum

Thanks for having me

Hi all,
Been visiting this website since I got back into fishing 4 months ago after a 10 year absence.
Finally decided to learn to drive and passed my test in May after riding bikes for 20 plus years, got a car ( it might only be a fiat panda but will fit all my gear and my 5 year old son at a push, not the wife sadly ) when an idea came into my head " I could start fishing again". Spent at least 4 weeks looking at reviews and opinions on tackle etc before drawing up a list of what I needed, checking online and local tackle shops for the best prices and booking a couple of days of work to allow for shopping trips and courier deliveries. What I estimated the cost to be and the actual cost varied quite a lot ( but don't tell the wife ) but you can't skimp on comfort. When it came to terminal tackle I was a bit lost, chods, zigs, spods, pop ups etc were all new phrases to me so when I went to my local shop I spoke to an assistant who took me around and explained what all the bits and pieces were for, I felt like a kid again but in a good way. It was exciting being back in a tackle shop and decided to leave the chods and zigs until my confidence and skill increased and have been using a simple running rig and pre tied hook lengths with success. I haven't set myself any goals or targets as "I've gotta get a 20 or 30 pounder " as I'm quite happy enjoying the peace and quiet and getting a couple of low doubles per session
