In reply to Post #53 If you are calling something XL, bloody make it XL though

In reply to Post #53 It's Xl a Big 1 man XL...Fox was always clear, the Frontier has always been a 1-man bivvy, so I don't understand the whole 2-man thing because that has never been the case.

In reply to Post #50 I don't disagree.
If you are calling something XL, bloody make it XL though.
As far as the options go, they either need to up their sizes so there is significant difference, or drop one of the sizing options, IMO.

In reply to Post #51 XL for normal people, small for carpy hobbits

In reply to Post #50 The x is easily their best seller, why scrap it, it is the best size..

In reply to Post #49 why have 3 sizes, just do either a 1 man & 2 man or a 1.5 man & a 2 man.
F Dims: 250 x 185 x 130 cm.
X Dims 260 x 198 x 140cm.
XL Dims: 270 x 210 x 165cm.
I'd scrap the X, seems neither here nor there difference wise.
That said, even the XL doesn't look like an ideal 2 man bivvy for longer sessions.
TBH, I don't think any 2 man is great for longer sessions unless with a extension, those sizes seem normal to me.
Re weight, I'd rather have it and a solid product than not have it and a flimsy product. You get used to the weight, it's not a biggy tbh.
I think Fox could and should have created a tent connector that fits to a gazebo type shelter. If it's peeing down all week the last thing you want is a low extension, you need to be able to stand up and stretch. Something like the Outwell Event lounge & connector which you can add sides too if wanted.

Must admit the V2 looks a fab bit of kit.
A couple of things that annoy me though, firstly, why have 3 sizes, just do either a 1 man & 2 man or a 1.5 man & a 2 man. That said, even the XL doesn't look like an ideal 2 man bivvy for longer sessions. I was looking at it with a view to taking my 6 year old next year with me , but looks as though I'd need either the extension or over wrap to accommodate us both for longer sessions at least.
Second thing that I'm struggling with is the weight of the thing, over 21kg! My current 2 man bivvy is 15kg and that is a ball ache to transport at times.
That all said, I'm so impressed with what you get for the price that I still may end up parting with my money.

In reply to Post #44 And yet you have plenty of space inside to the straight sides/back. The Trakker 150 is barely bigger inside, search for Frontier on this forum there's a photo of me with the same setup in a Frontier XD vs a Trakker 150.
The Trakker 150 is a lot bigger on the outside but not on the inside compared to the Frontier XD/XL.

In reply to Post #43 jesus.. that is a big weight for a bivvy, I have an xd which is like carrying a body bag, an extra 5kg for the new 1 would need foundations digging in

In reply to Post #43 Going off fox’s sizes even the xl version is smaller than a standard pioneer and nearly the same depth a ultralite. I thought it would of been on par with a pio 150 or tempest 150 size wise.

In reply to Post #32 It looks like the xl is around 5 to 6kg heavier than the xd, around 21kg with everything in the bag

In reply to Post #41 I can see that. I have the original Frontier from the early 0's and it is a heavy old thing but I still sometimes take it for the odd 24 hour, I have the Trakker V2 Air for shorter sessions as it's the thing most like my Fox Evo size wise if not in flexibility height wise, in fact I view it more as a rigid brolly.
The one thing I hate about both is lack of ventilation in hot summer temps and that's the only reason I've been considering the newer Frontier, I ruled the Trakker out on Price and I'm tempted by the Wychwood Epic.
Like has been mentioned I wonder if the previous models extension fits the Mk2 as they seem to be very similar in size, could be a saving to be made if so.
