100%, but prodding the wasps nest will only aggravate them and more then likely make it worse

No that’s fair enough, see all point. Just checked, there isn’t a specified time just ‘to allow for photography equipment to be set up’ which don’t get me wrong, it was longer then that. The recasting rule doesn’t apply as 1. It’s not my places rules and 2. I didn’t recast as I was packing up to go to work.

I was waiting for my mate to come down to assist, but we got our wires crossed, not that I can’t do it on my own, but a hand especially this time of year is always handy.

My pics are probably done within 15mins normally, and I do self takes any time of day/night. So there wasn’t no need for photography ‘vain’ness’ to delay it apart from awaiting a hand and resting the fish. Oh well, will air my opinions and reasonings and see what backlash I get.

If it’s a match type venue committee
You can Just argue the case that it’s 1 fish in 1 net for half an hour rather than 100lb for 5 hours.
Where’s the difference?
If you were using a match pan net for the resting then you could probably say you were in the wrong
But a deep carp net nahh.

Only thing you have atm is the Shelley grey arguments going on..

It’s silly and petit but yes I think you are wrong on a couple of counts.

Firstly the rules - no matter how ridiculous they are are in there for all to see and understand.
Like someone else has said - recovery time - in a net - I’m sorry but not for me - these are wild creatures not petulant kids - the stress of hooking and playing especially this time of year is enough- if you want a photo - take it. Photos after a rest IMO are much worse and they get that second wind.

This isn’t a preaching post as I have had a fish in the net for probably 30 mins on a couple of occasions, both time for my vanity - awaiting someone to take a quick snap for special fish, it wasn’t to let them recover.

I rarely take photos or weight fish but absolutely each to their own and it amazing me that people still want to see angling celebs with 17lb simmos and a woolly sponsors hat on in July! I have held fish upright in the water (sling) to recover and await that kick, but retaining in the confines of a mesh - is (in my case) for my benefit not the fish.

Like I say petty little squealers are everywhere and I very much doubt it was reported regards concern for the fish! But 15 mins and no recasting sounds a reasonable club rule that you’ve doubled. Soz.

Quote... You should do a spoon with a snake on and present it to the grassing ****er

Vinnie, can you do me a couple of spoons with little rats on, maybe hiding in the shadows? Gifts for a couple of forum members.

It's just not Angling.. every walk of life there's a few slippery ****s who see nothing wrong in throwing someone under the bus. Your usually find it helps in covering up there own short Commings

If you've retained a fish for a bit longer than the rules dictate. Hold your hands up.. if the committee are half reasonable they will see no real harm has been done and put you on the naughty step for half an hour..

Next time your down the pond and you see Bobby smalls and his Opo. Don't forget to give them the biggest smile as you walk on by. Actions will definitely speak louder than words in this instance...

Yeah that’s going to be one of my points. No doubt they have all made their mind up of my fate, but we will see come Monday
