I've been meaning to post for a while, but only just got around to it.
Thanks to everyone on this thread. I purchased the replacement batteries and put them in my Nash barrow.

Old batteries weighed 4.8kg

New batteries weigh 2kg

New batteries in situ

Good idea mate, I’ve just left mine out in all weathers for the last two and a bit years, I use it mostly at least monthly, and usually through winter too but I don’t think I done the old battery any favours by leaving it out there attached etc . Looking forward to trying these out!

I used to leave mine fully connected (and still do) in the garage with the power turned off . . .the only time I disconnect is the handle connection (when in transit to and from lake) and the batteries themselves when they need re-charging . . . will also disconnect the batteries and store elsewhere when first frosts hit as carping is over for me when winter arrives . . .

Received mine within 3 days! They’re probably less than half the weight of one of the lead acid batteries, I received two of the chargers with LED indicators too which I was happy about.

Seeing that you left yours on accidentally between sessions, do you usually leave your batteries attached between sessions then, as I do too, which I think lead to my lead acid ones depleting so “quickly” I was wondering if I should now be detaching the batteries when the barrow is away stored in the garage etc?

Thanks

The power of the snotty email - good service tbf . . .not only were non-LED chargers collected and replaced with LED versions; they've now randomly sent me another pair! !

Footnote - stupidly left my barrow 'on' in the garage after returning from a recent trip; 24hrs later when I went back to check something the barrow lights remained on and on full power! Would have never happened with old lead acid jobbies . . .

Can relate - I'm also 53 and have no desire to push lol . . .if you want an even easier life can fully recommend the barrow buddies swivelling rear wheels for your barrow - game changer!

I've got a 12v 100Ah Ultramax Lipo4 for my outboard motor had it about 8 or more years now, it is still as good as they day I bought it admittedly it only gets used a few times a year abroad on the boat motor fishing 4 rods on long tows, spot finding dropping rigs going out to land fish transporting gear etc... lowest charge I've come back with is around 40 to 50% charge left in it never managed to exhaust it.
I rate the Ultramax batteries, I was skeptical about getting them for the barrow as I read that Nash advised not to use them with theirs but as soon as the post earlier said ignore that most of the Nash boys use them that was it for me as the AGM's supplied by Nash in my opinion were ****ed from the start, I certainly noticed the extra juice in these last weekend especially going up the ramp into my van, I struggled before with the supplied AGM's and had to help with a little push just at the crest of the ramp loading it in then by the time I'd finished and used it on what I'd consider an average distance push they didn't have the power left at the end of a session to get the barrow up the ramp back into the van, she flew up the ramp both ends of the trip last weekend, the AGM,s would be flashing red on the speed controller nearing the end of return trips, hopefully these will be a lot better as I've got some 20, 30 and 50 acre pits and at 53 haven't got the strength or lungs for pushing these days for that hence why the wife bought me the power barrow as a Christmas present.

Will be interesting to see long term usage reports and also how much more juice / distance we get between charges . . .

I'm happy enough without the LED on the chargers they've still got heat protection and overcharge cutout when reading the blurb on the leaflet in the box.

Following the 3 hour charge last week immediately after removing the crocodile clips they read 14.4 volts at that point which you'd expect to see after removing the charger then by the morning in their rested state they'd settled at 13.6 volts which is still 100%, I tested them again after fishing Friday night and using the barrow for about a 1000 meter round trip and they were reading 13.4 volts which is 99% full, the chart below gives a rough guide on 12volt lead/acid values and Li-ion

I had to send several snotty emails (after they tried to fob me off into buying / testing with a volt meter) and with some emotional support from Rob (!) they are collecting my chargers and replacing with LED variants.

*Note to anyone else buying these batts - ensure you get the 'correct' LED chargers prior to purchase to save any agg - otherwise they will claim you will only receive whatever stock they have available (probably a backlog of non-LED 3A/12V chargers!)
