The wavey/watery finish is a fair description of what I have on the handle. Not a pattern I have seen on rod/other net blanks before.

I may have a look at another in the shop re the carbon tape. It's clearly a reinforcement for the block as you can see the slight increase in diameter.

I think you should try and share some photos. The Korda handle doesn’t have a fibre weave like a rod may have. It’s more of a wavy/ watery finish when it catches the light.

Maybe contact Korda based on the last 2 posts, they tend to be very good, pics for them would help but ask before sending as their servers might block them. I would say look at another in a shop 1st too, but if that 1s passed qc maybe others are the same.

I've just taken delivery of a 42 inch Spring Bow and shallow mesh (which is far more suitable for my needs).

What is the finish like on everyone nets? Mine seems fairly roughly finished with what I assume to be carbon tape visible under the varnish/finish at the spreader end of the pole and no real consistency to the 'pattern' of the carbon on the rest of the pole.
Whilst this doesn't effect the function of the net, which is impressively light and stiff, it seems strange for an expensive bit of kit. Wondering if I have a Friday afternoon version or this is the norm?

Cheers,
James.

You can get the net for £200 if you look. The mesh was £30 delivered. Still cheaper than my Solar P1 which now sits on a bank as a spare

Not a flaw for alot of people,it's superb on the lake I'm on.I can push the handle into the bank and rest the fish in the margin with no chance of it jumping out

I received my replacement shallow mesh this morning. Much better size in line with a normal net. Needless to say the deep mesh will go in the bin
