In reply to Post #2 Yesđ The original Basia 45 QDâs were silver and constructed from magnesium alloy to make them lightweight. They came with wooden handle grip which had an annoying clicking sound.
The 45 QDXâs were the same reel but in Matt Black and a rubber hand grip which did away withthe annoying clicking noise. Apart from cosmetics that was about it although I may be wrong in thinking that the main shaft was now stronger to eliminate a problem that didnât exist.
There was a further âcustomâ variant which was just another cosmetic upgrade and reverted back to a wooden handle.
After that came the new ( current) shape and SCW variants which came out every couple of weeks or so it seemed.
Iâve got QDXâs and wouldnât swap them unless for original Shimmy Tech 10,000XTâsđ

In reply to Post #1 If I were after a set of Basiaâs, those are the ones I would be looking for. They were the first black ones I think?

Been offered a set of these from a friend who pretty much gave up fishing not long after getting them so theyâre pretty much unused. Being around 15 years old i think and having so many Basia variants since canât find much info on them from a search. Anyone use / used them? Just seeing what your opinions are of them and how they compare to the newer versions. Thanks
