Another Wychwood recommendation but the Extricator Plus would sort you out for that budget.

Brilliant rods, lovely action and can cast 20 wraps quite easily, probably more in a capable casters hands (I never fish that far anyway).

If it’s weedy and you are landing fish from the boat I would seriously look at some 3 1/2 test or even spod rods. Boat fishing in weed can be brutal!

Agreed, for the money the Riots (not the retractables) are a non-lairy ideal option. £35 a pop if you find some deals.

I'd say maybe helicals too

Another option, if you dont wanna spend money, is Wychwood Riot, have them on 10ft 3 lb and dont have any complain or issues with them, didn't catch big fish actually but i had landed some 30's with em, even fishing snags with closed drag

Don't want to hijack the thread but in a very similar position as off to France in a couple of months and would like some shorter rods for dropping rigs from a boat. Seen some Prologic C series retractables not too far away - anyone got a view on these?

Sonik extractor + if they get knocked about or go for a swim does not break the bank to replace.

I just picked up some 10ft 3lb sonik gravity's for just over £50 a rod and they are really good rods even at rrp. These replaced some 9ft insurgents, which were also £50 a rod. Keep an eye out and there are some great deals to be had on 9ft/10footers, and for the money it's had to beat the higher spec sonik rods.

Get some TackleBox CFX 10ft 3lb mate if you can spend a little more, or look out for some 2nd hand. You will not regret it.

Freespirit helical or kaizen greens are both great rods for the money, id say the helicals edge it out

Using a rowing boat for the first time this year and looking at cheap ish 10ft rods to make the job easier. Probably looking at £300 for the three...these will be strictly for dropping baits and not casting!! Any I should be looking at or avoiding?
Thanks in advance
