My mate just bought the Avid EXO. I was out last weekend fishing with him, and I'm impressed — for the money it's a decent bit of kit and goes up and down easily.

Just seen a quick video of the new MK4 - going to be interesting to see all of the changes from a MK3 to a MK4. I've had the MK3 since it came out and like it. I had the green bivvy, but its badly faded now as one of the lakes i fish has no shade at all.

It does, but all avid stuff seems to fall apart even more quickly than fox gear. Avid can't even make a bag stem or copy someonrs else's chair without it falling apart

A bivvy has a lot of poles, stitching that gets put under a lot of tension etc. its a brave person who spends their own money on an avid bivvy

The Avid bivvy looks to be a lot of good kit for the price, if I was in the market for a new bivvy I would be definitely be considering it.

Nash Hide XL is a decent price these days, good size. I'm 6'1" and find height good.
Or Sonik AXS as someone else has suggested, underrated IMO.

You could get the V2 repaired.

Watch out for the crazy weight increases and huge pack sizes.

I’d suggest looking on tackle shop websites to see what offers they’ve got on. As new models are released there’s usually some very good discounts on the outgoing models.

Look at the Trakker SLX V3. Great value for money I think.

I’ve just bought a Solar Worldwide FS 1.5 and am dead impressed. Lots of room, including height, and comes with everything, including skull cap, for just a fraction over £500. I also love that it has a zip-in groundsheet because I’m allergic to most bug bites. Highly recommended.

Not been on for ages as I have been out of the game for easily 5 years now!

So……..I still carp fish in France but not in the uk which means I have kept what kit I have and not kept up to date with what’s what.

I have a few shelters. A tempest brolly 150 (think that’s what it’s called!) and a trakker V2.

I need to replace the V2. It stinks 😷 and all the tape is coming away from the inside. I really like the bivvy but replacing it would be over 1k which for 2-3 trips a year is too much. I also have so much more kit to replace as the mice have been through the whole lot!

Are there any cheaper brands that you guys can recommend? I am a taller man so need some height and I would prefer the bivvy to be more of a 1.5 man that compact style.
I may just have to bite the bullet and go with trakker but I really don’t see how they can now charge that sort of money.
Maybe I’m too far behind the times!
